Today was day 3 of working on our argument paragraph. On Tuesday, students read the first source about why cats are better then dogs. On Wednesday, students read the second source about why dogs make better pets then cats. Then today, we used our two column notes that we took on Tuesday and wrote a argument paragraph of why cats make better pets then dogs. Tomorrow, students will work in pairs to write their own argument paragraph about why dogs are better pets then dogs using the two column notes that students made on Wednesday. Here is the paragraph that we wrote together today about cats being better pets....
Cat Lover
Hey dog lovers, here's why a cat is a better pet then a dog. Cats can clean themselves, while dogs need help. These felines love being alone, yet a dog needs companionship. Dogs need owners to get exercise outside and cats are happy to play with a yarn ball inside by themselves. Kittens are very quiet but dogs are really disturbing to the neighbors. You don't even need to train a cat. Mean while, dogs still need training. This is why a cat is better pet than a dog.
Students did a wonderful job this week!
