At the start of each new lesson, I will post an update of the name of the story with key skills for that lesson. On the fifth day of that lesson, students will be given a lesson assessment. Below is the grading scale for this assessment.

Concept and Question Board
For each unit of study, students are required to contribute to our Concept and Question Board. Students must also present their contribution to the class. See below for a list of ideas of ways in which students can participate and connect to the big idea! We will also be brainstorming more specific ideas as a class with the start of each unit.
- Create a venn-diagram to compare and contrast
- Make a diorama to show the big idea or something related
- Be creative and write your own story about the unit
- Draw a timeline of information related to the unit
- Read a book related to the unit and create a book report in a bag
- Bring in family photos and write a paragraph about them
- Most importantly, be creative and have FUN!
What's New in Writing: Opinion
In third grade we focus on three different types of writing: narrative, informational, and argumentative (opinion). We will begin with reviewing how to write simple and complex sentences and move into writing paragraphs. Our writing is based upon the Common Core State Standards for Writing. We will follow the SAU 15 Writing Curriculum.
What's New in Handwriting:
This week, we are starting the uppercase cursive letters. Our next two letters are:
